The birth of a child

There are few things that are as amazing as the birth of a child. The spiritual birth and growth of a person is amazing and a delight to see and experience. But the birth of a child - who can comprehend it? I can't even find the words to express what I felt as little Hayden was born. My oldest daughter gave birth to her second child (my second grandchild!) and I was able to be there with her and her husband. It was such an emotional time! Generations of our gene pool, mixed with other gene pools, created this wonderful, tiny little body. God gave her breath and life, and already gave His Son for her soul. Amazing! Our God is almighty and infinite. I cannot even begin to understand His ways and works.

At this moment, I am listening to K-Love, and the song "God You Reign." I love that song. It gives God all the praise that he so deserves. All around us is disaster, tragedy and sorrow, yet God reigns. Satan is hard at work these days in the lives of those God loves, yet we cannot let him have the victory. Just as Hayden trusts in her mom and dad (and big sister!) to take care of her every need, so we need to trust God. He loves us more than my daughter loves her new one, and that is amazing!
